Enhanced ACT (2025) Score Calculator
The Enhanced ACT, rolled out in 2025, is a shorter test that makes the Science section optional. On the Enhanced ACT, your core composite is the rounded mean of just three sections — English, Math and Reading — instead of the legacy four. Science can still be reported, but it no longer has to count toward the composite that most colleges see. This calculator defaults to the Enhanced (3-section) rule and lets you toggle Science back on to compare against the legacy 4-section composite, so you can see exactly how the change moves your number. Enter your raw correct counts to see the estimated section scores and composite. Free, private, and browser-only.
Enhanced ACT (2025): Science optional, composite = rounded mean of English, Math and Reading (3 sections)
- Toggle Science on to compare against the legacy 4-section composite denominator
- Worked example: 26, 26, 26 across three sections → composite 26
Frequently asked questions
How is the Enhanced ACT (2025) scored differently?
The scale is the same 1–36, but Science is now optional. On the Enhanced ACT the core composite is the rounded mean of three sections — English, Math and Reading — instead of four. The test is also shorter. This calculator defaults to the 3-section rule and lets you add Science back to see the legacy composite.
Do colleges still want the ACT Science score?
It varies by school. Under the Enhanced ACT, Science is reported separately but is not required in the core composite most colleges use. Some programs — especially STEM-heavy ones — may still ask for it, so check each school's testing policy. This tool lets you include or exclude Science so you can report whichever composite a school expects.
