Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Calculator inputs — not collected. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser. The values you enter are computed on your device and are never sent to or stored on our servers. A shareable link encodes your inputs in the URL’s “#” fragment, which browsers never transmit to a server.
• Preferences. Your light/dark theme choice is stored locally in your browser (localStorage). It stays on your device.
• Usage analytics (consent-based). We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, which pages are useful (e.g. page views, approximate country, device type). Analytics cookies are set only if you choose “Accept” in our cookie banner — until then GA runs in a cookieless mode and stores no analytics cookies. Your IP address is anonymized, and we never use this data to build advertising profiles of you.
• Contact form. If you message us, the name, email and message you submit are delivered to us by email (via Resend), and a spam-prevention check runs (Cloudflare Turnstile). We use these only to read and reply to you.

Cookies & similar storage

We keep this to a minimum:

• Theme preference — stored in your browser’s localStorage (functional; stays on your device, no consent needed).
• Analytics cookies — Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_<id> cookies only after you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner. By default (Google Consent Mode v2) analytics storage is denied, so no analytics cookies are stored unless you opt in.
• Recently-used tools, favorites and saved inputs — stored only in this browser (localStorage) and are never uploaded to our servers.

You can Decline in the banner, clear your browser cookies at any time to withdraw consent, or fully exclude your browser from measurement by visiting any page with ?rk-optout=1 (?rk-optout=0 re-enables). We do not use cross-site advertising trackers. If we introduce advertising in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

Third parties

We rely on a few processors, each handling only the technical data needed for their function:

• Hosting / CDN — serves the site and processes request metadata (such as your IP address) to deliver pages.
• Google Analytics (Google LLC) — measures aggregate, consent-based usage (see above); your IP is anonymized.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — a privacy-friendly “are you human?” check on the contact form; it sets no advertising cookies.
• Resend — delivers your contact-form message to us by email.

We do not sell your personal data — ever.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR in the EU/UK, or similar laws elsewhere), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we don’t maintain accounts or store your inputs, we typically hold no personal data tied to you — but you can still reach us with any request via our contact page.

Children

Reckonist is a general-audience information tool and is not directed at children under 13.
