Convert a time span into decimal hours for your timesheet or payroll — because 8h 30m is 8.5 hours, not 8.30. Enter a start and end time and the calculator divides the elapsed minutes by 60 to give the decimal figure, alongside the H:MM and total-minutes views. 15 minutes is 0.25 h, 20 minutes is 0.33 h, 45 minutes is 0.75 h — the minutes divided by 60 give the fractional hour. Subtract an unpaid break, and if the shift runs past midnight turn on Overnight so the cross-midnight case still converts correctly. Decimal hours are what payroll multiplies by an hourly rate, and many systems then round each entry to the nearest quarter-hour or tenth — so the tool shows the exact decimal value you can round yourself.
