Estimate your bench press one-rep max from a set you took close to failure. Enter the weight and reps — say 225 lb for 5 reps — and this calculator runs three formulas (Epley, Brzycki and Lombardi) and averages them into a single estimate, in the same unit you entered. A 225 lb × 5 bench gives Epley 262.5, Brzycki 253.1 and Lombardi 264 lb, averaging to about 260 lb; the spread between the formulas tells you how precise that number is. Brzycki is most accurate for 1–6 reps and Epley for 6–10, and because Epley reads roughly 3% high at a true single, it is excluded from the average at 1–2 reps. You also get a rep-max % training table — the load for 1–12 reps as a percentage of your bench 1RM — so you can program percentage-based pressing straight away. This is a fitness estimate: your reps must be near-failure, and accuracy degrades above about 10 reps.
