How Many Classes Can I Skip Calculator
Already above 75% and wondering how many classes you can afford to bunk? This calculator turns your attendance record into a skip budget. When you are at or above your target, the number you can miss right now is floor(attended ÷ t − held), where t is the target as a fraction (0.75 for the 75% rule). For example, with 70 classes attended out of 80 held you are at 87.5%, so you have a cushion of floor(70 ÷ 0.75 − 80) = floor(93.33 − 80) = 13 classes before you would touch 75%. Enter the number of upcoming classes you know are coming and the bunk-planner caps the skip count to that window. Free, private, and browser-only.
Skippable now = floor(attended ÷ t − held), with t = 0.75 for the 75% rule
- Worked example: 70 of 80 held → (70 ÷ 80) × 100 = 87.5%, comfortably above 75%
- Cushion: floor(70 ÷ 0.75 − 80) = floor(93.33 − 80) = 13 classes you can skip before dropping to 75%
- Bunk-planner: of the next N upcoming classes it caps the skippable count to N, assuming you attend every class you do not deliberately miss.
Frequently asked questions
How many classes can I skip and still keep 75%?
When you are already at or above target, the number you can skip right now is floor(attended ÷ target − held), with the target written as a fraction (0.75 for 75%). With 70 attended out of 80 held you are at 87.5%, so you can skip floor(70 ÷ 0.75 − 80) = 13 more classes before you touch 75%. Each class you actually skip lowers this cushion by one.
How does the bunk planner work?
The bunk planner answers a practical question: of the next N classes you know are coming up, how many can you safely miss? It assumes you attend every class you do not deliberately skip, then caps the skippable figure to that N-class window. It is a best-case plan for consecutive upcoming classes, not a guarantee — recompute each week with your updated counts.
What if I am below 75% — can I still skip?
No. If your attendance is below the target the calculator shows classes-to-attend instead of a skip budget, because you first have to climb back above the bar. Only once you are at or above 75% do you have a cushion to spend.
